Callao Car Center is owned and operated by John & Debbie Newsome. John and Debbie have lived in Callao all of their lives. They started school together and then graduated together in 1986. In 1988 they were married and today they have an ten-year-old son, Taylor, who is the light of their lives.

After school John went to work for the Northumberland County Sheriff's Department. In March of 1996 he left the police force to start his own business with Callao Service Center, Inc. T/A Callao Car Center. John has been proud to have his father, "Big John", working along side. They have been together ever since the beginning and have gained a tremendous reputation for fair prices and honest deals. Their low pressure and fair pricing make purchasing a vehicle from Callao Car Center a pleasure.

John was presented with the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Quality Dealer Award by Preferred Warranties for four years running. This was done in recognition of his exceptional commitment to sell quality pre-owned vehicles, as proven by the high number of warranties versus the low claims record. Callao Car Center proudly stands behind their pre-owned cars and trucks and many come with an extended service contract provided by Preferred Warranties.

John and Big John believe in giving back to the community. Both are life members of Callao Volunteer Fire Department that is located directly across the street from the dealership. John is also a licensed auctioneer and enjoys doing charity auctions around the area.

Debbie Newsome is happy to work side by side with John. When she is not helping around the dealership she is busy running Van Land Realty, a well-respected real estate office. Her father, Bobby VanLandingham, opened this business in 1971 and continues to work with his daughter still today. When not at work, Debbie enjoys fishing, scrap booking, and spending time with her family.

Jean Newsome, Big John's wife, enjoys spending time around the car lot. She proudly serves at the EVB Bank. Like the rest of her family, she is a people person that takes pleasure in helping others. She and Big John have two other children and three grandchildren. The two of them have been married for over 44 years and still enjoy working and playing together.
